Mr Reddy is the lead Consultant Bariatric Surgeon at St George’s Hospital and built on the previous St George’s service to develop the South Thames Bariatric Service - one of the preferred providers for NHS bariatric surgery in the London region. He has developed networked bariatric processes for collaborative working. Mr Reddy is the BOMSS representative on the National Bariatric Surgery Registry.

He performed his first gastric band in 2002 and now performs laparoscopic gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and endoscopic balloon placement as part of a multidisciplinary team.

He has considerable experience of revision surgery and the super-obese. His surgical practice is dedicated to bariatric and benign upper GI conditions having discontinued performing cancer surgery in 2004. Mr Reddy has particular experience with high risk bariatric surgery where staged procedures are required. Mr Reddy has a commitment to training, recognising the need for workforce development:

"Senior bariatric fellow and mentorship programmes can successfully produce new bariatric surgeons for appointment as NHS consultants".

He has lectured nationally and internationally on bariatric surgery.
