Mr Majid Hashemi MB ChB, FRCS, ECFMG – Consultant Bariatric Surgeon
Mr Hashemi specializes in upper gastrointestinal surgery, with specific interests in gastric and oesophageal cancer, laparoscopic Bariatric surgery and reflux disease. He developed a tertiary referral service for Bariatric surgery (North London Obesity Surgery Service – NLOSS) at The Whittington Hospital and has performed bariatric surgery for over six years, running the Bariatric Surgery service at the Whittington prior to moving to UCLH in August 2007.
Mr Hashemi is actively involved in training, education and research and he has performed complex laparoscopic Bariatric surgery procedures as part of advanced laparoscopic training workshops abroad as well as leading and supervising on a number of research projects.
He is a firm believer that patients should be involved in major decisions:
